Advanc3D's new powder-coated FlexPlate consists of three parts. The first is the magnetic surface that will attach to the printer bed. The second and third part is the high quality spring steel plate covered with a sheet of best PEI Ultem.
The Flexplate-Powder Coated PEI is the perfect surface to print on, it is very durable and easy to handle. Best of all, your prints are very easy to remove thanks to the flexible plate. A small bend is enough and the print comes off.
PrimaCreator x Advanc3D FlexPlate-Powder Coated PEI is based on a ferrite core, which is much more heat resistant than neodymium magnets. This FlexPlate can easily withstand temperatures up to 130°C, so you can even use it with ABS.
PEI Ultem (polyetherimide) from PrimaCreator is a reusable, relatively maintenance-free build pad for ABS (with a heated bed) and PLA (hot or cold), but other materials like metal, wood, PETG, ABS+ and many others work great too. You don't need any additional adhesives like glue or tape. PEI is attractive because it doesn't require any surface pretreatment, so it's easy to work with. Plus, printing on PEI doesn't require support rafts because the parts adhere directly to the surface with no problems.
How to use.
Unpack your FlexPlate, attach the magnetic surface to your print bed, and then attach the spring steel plate with the PEI attached to it to the magnetic surface. Remove the protective film from the PEI and realign your print bed. Now you are ready to print. The parts should come off the surface with almost no problems. PLA doesn't need heat, but it helps to heat the print bed to 45 °C. You don't need glue, but if you want to print something large or long lasting, we recommend PrimaFix glue stick to make your parts stick even better and come off even easier after printing. After printing, just let the plate cool, take it out and bend it slightly. Then you can easily release the model from the plate.Wipe the PEI surface with 70-91% isopropyl alcohol before each print to ensure that any grease or other residue that may have accumulated on the surface is wiped off. Use acetone, isopropyl alcohol, methyl alcohol or soap to clean your PEI after use.
